Aare Afe Babalola (SAN) B.Sc (Econs) Lond; LL.B (Hons) Lond; FFPA, FNIALS, FCIArb, LL.D, (Founder,ABISC & ABUAD)

Afe Babalola International Study Centre is founded by Aare Afe Babalola, B.Sc (Econs) Lond; LL.B (Hons) Lond; FFPA, FNIALS, FCIArb, LL.D; Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN); Doctor of Letters (LL.D); Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR), and Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), former Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Lagos, Nigeria; the immediate past Chairman of the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, winner of the Best Pro-Chancellor award in 2005 and 2006, winner of Queen Victoria Commemorative Award at Socrates Award of European Business Assembly in Oxford UK; member of the Rector of Europe, October, 2007; Vice President, Rector of Europe, 2010; and Honorary Professor of International Univeristy.
Aare Afe Babalola attended Emmanuel Primary School, Ado-Ekiti, where he obtained his standard six certificate. That was the end of his formal education. All the educational qualifications listed against his name above were obtained through private study. Aare Afe Babalola was at various times a pupil teacher, a secondary school teacher, secondary school vice principal, university lecturer, economist, auditor, administrator, farmer and educationist. Today, he is a foremost legal icon of his generation not only on the African continent but in the world.
The self-made man is proud of the qualitative primary education he had. It was the high quality of instruction received by him at the Primary School level, he says, proudly, that served as the foundation for his subsequent educational achievements. The founder is unhappy that the same quality of education is no longer available in most educational institutions.

This is what touched his heart to establish a centre where better foundation could be given to the university aspiring students. On October 18th 2010 Afe Babalola International Study Centre Registered her first student Fawole Mojisola Oyindamola.

This development and his experience of dwindling qualities on standard of education in the University of Lagos where he was the Pro-Chancellor between 2002 and 2007 and other universities usually regarded as the best in the country that informed him of the urgent need to establish a first class university to serve as a benchmark for other universities.

On the 1st of October, 2008, the turning of the sod ceremony was performed on the university site. In a record time of eight months, the imposing state-of-the-art structures were ready for commissioning.

OUR JOURNEY SO FAR

Afe Babalola International Study Centre (ABISC) was birthed in 2010 out of necessity to meet unfulfilled yearnings of teeming Nigerian youths. ABISC is a brain child of the eminent legal luminary and foremost educationist - Aare Afe Babalola (SAN).

The school and hostel facilities are situated in the serene Bodija environs in the city of Ibadan, Nigeria.
The institution at inception commenced academic activities with only four students, one proceeded to study law and the others secured overseas admission after their time with us. The following session saw an upsurge in our enrolment to over 100 students and 93 of them proceeded to ABUAD. In the 2012/2013 academic session, we schooled over 200 students and successfully transitioned over 95% of them into various institutions of higher learning home and abroad. Our last set of students numbered 307 and 305 out of this lot are already bonafide students of various universities in Nigeria and beyond including ABUAD.

The moral and academic standard at ABISC is comparable to international good practices given the seasoned and well-experienced education administrator who heads the institution. The institutional head is ably supported by a crop of experienced teaching staff and non-teaching staff. Parents have the benefit of knowing ward's academic and moral performance to bring out the best of every child.

Our students' performance from inception speaks loudly for us. For instance, one out of the four students we had at inception is now a barrister at law, the others are graduates already. One of the students that passed through us in the 2011/2012 session bagged a first class honours in Accounting from ABUAD and will shortly become a Chartered Accountant. Some of our former students are fully settled in federal universities in Nigeria among which are UNILAG, OAU, FUTA, UNIBEN, UNIPORT etc.

This school enjoys the support and goodwill of our founder - Aare Afe Babalola (SAN)
