INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEWLY ADMITTED DEGREE FOUNDATION/JUPEB AND CAMBRIDGE ADVANCED LEVEL STUDENTS FOR THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION
A. RESUMPTION:
Registration for the 2024/2025 session begins on Monday, September 2nd, 2024. All parents are hereby informed that there will be an interactive session in the institution premises on the resumption day.
B. Candidates are expected to come with the following for registration:
• Evidence of School Fees Payment
• Admission Letter
• Evidence of payment of the N10,500 (Application Fee) and N100,000 (Acceptance Fee)
• Photocopies and original of O’ Level results
• Birth Certificate/Declaration of age
• Letter of Attestation from a reputable Nigerian or the parent
• Four (4) Recent passport photographs
• Subsidized Medical tests, Drug tests, and JUPEB Syllabus fee ----N35,000 (TO BE PAID IN CASH)
• All Science students must come with their Lab Coats with their names boldly written on it
C. ROOM ALLOCATION:
Allocation to rooms shall be done after the registration exercise and on a first come – first serve basis. A two-man room will attract additional fee of N300,000 and there are limited spaces for such.
D. HALLS OF RESIDENCE REQUIREMENTS
The following are the minimum required items that a student will need during his/her stay in the Hall of Residence:
• Mattress and Pillow -- 21/2 by 6 (student size)
• Pillow Case
• Blanket
• Bed Sheets 2 by 6
• Set of Cutleries
• Plastic Buckets
• Padlock and key ring
• Rechargeable lamp
• Hangers
• School bag
• Rechargeable Fan
• Sweater
• Raincoat/Umbrella
• Provisions
• Toiletries
• Feeding cost: Students buy food at the cafeteria depending on their feeding pattern and affordability.
• Hardcover notebooks
• Writing materials
• Treated Mosquito net
E. LIST OF PROHIBITED ITEMS IN THE HALL OF RESIDENCE
• Alcoholic drinks
• Blenders
• Binoculars
• Candles, matches and gas lighter
• Cigarette and hard drugs
• Indecent wears
• Cooking utensils
• Dangerous weapons of any type
• Electric blankets, mattresses or beds
• Electric boiling rings
• Hair dryer
• Kerosene Lamps
• Lethal weapons and injections
• Microwaves
• Photocopying machines
• Raw food items
• Refrigerators
• Toasters
• Television sets.
*Please note that students shall be thoroughly checked and tested particularly for any kind of drugs before the room allocation.
F. DRESS CODE FROM MONDAYS TO FRIDAYS
• Arts/SMS: Sky-Blue Long Sleeve Shirt with Black Trouser or Skirt
• Sciences - Cream Long Sleeve Shirt with Black Trouser or Skirt
• Engineering - Green Long Sleeve Shirt with Black Trouser or Skirt
• Law - White Long Sleeve Shirt with Black Trouser or Skirt
• Pharmacy - Purple Long Sleeve Shirt with Black Trouser or Skirt
• Nursing and Medicine & Surgery - Red Long Sleeve Shirt with Black Trouser or Skirt
• Black Tie and Belt for Male Students.
HAIRSTYLE:
• Low and decent haircuts for male students and female students should appear with modest hairstyles.
• Crazy hair styles like dread locks, plaited or relaxed hair is not allowed for male students.
• Coloured hair extension and attachments are not allowed except Black attachments ONLY for female students.
• No growing of beards, all male students must be cleanly shaven.
Please note that wearing of leggings, jergens, jeans of any colour, miniskirts, micro miniskirts, mini gowns, T-Shirts, slippers, sandals and any other indecent dressing are not permitted in the school premises.
G. MOVEMENT OF STUDENTS
For security reasons, the school operates a very strict policy on the movement of students in and out of school and around the city. Female students are conveyed from the hostel to school and back with the school bus shuttle daily. Therefore, students will not be given exeat to go outside of the school or hostel premises under any condition.
H. STUDENTS FELLOWSHIP
As an institution, we are committed to the students’ total development and also conscious of producing God-fearing students. Therefore, the spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical development of all students is important to us. In this regard, the school has an interdenominational chapel where students can worship. The Christian students hold their service on Sundays in the school between 9am and 11am while Muslim students hold their Jumat Service on Fridays in the school between 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
I. MOBILE PHONES AND LAPTOPS
We are committed to supporting your ward in their academic pursuits and in order to lessen distraction and help them focus, smartphones are NOT allowed. Each student is to come with a small torchlight phone with which they can call and receive calls while in the hostel.
